1957

In a peaceful corner of Normandy, François Boursin laid the foundation for a future cheese empire with a creative, bold, and ingenious spirit like never before. His passion and determination led him to create his own cheese company, unaware of the international fame that awaited him. After two years of experimentation and refinement, he unveiled his iconic creation: Boursin® Garlic & Fine Herbs, a harmonious blend of fresh cheese, garlic, and aromatic herbs.

1968

Boursin® made a big splash in 1968 by becoming the first cheese brand to conquer French television! Its iconic TV commercial featured an actor succumbing to the irresistible craving for Boursin®, which becomes the focus of his nightly desires. This pioneering strategy embedded the brand into the daily lives of the French and established it as a staple on their tables.

1972

Continuous innovation in communication led to an advertising saga centered on humor, irresistibility, and indulgent pleasure. In 1972, the legendary slogan "Du pain, du vin, du Boursin®" was born a phrase that has echoed through generations and become a part of French popular culture.

1977

Success knows no borders for Boursin®, which has extended its influence far beyond France. The range has expanded, offering new intense flavors and a more premium approach to gourmets worldwide. Boursin® reached a major milestone with the launch of its first plant-based spreadable product, maintaining the intensity and flavor that make the brand so unique. We prioritize local sourcing in many markets. For example, we have reestablished a garlic supply chain in France, grown in the southwest by a cooperative of 300 small fresh garlic producers. In Canada and France, the milk comes from local producers.

RESPONSIBLE PACKAGING

Boursin® aims to reduce the amount of plastic in its packaging. A concrete example is replacing plastic tubs with cardboard ones for the Boursin® Onctueux range. We are also committed to advancing sorting and recycling efforts.
