On Monday 22 November 2010, Sporsora, the French sports marketing association, paid tribute to the most innovative sports marketing initiatives
On this occasion, the Bel Group's sailing sponsorship programme won the prize for the best in-house action for a sponsorship initiative in recognition of its events that aim to make the Group's sailing programme a force that encourages internal cohesion on an international level.
The Bel Group boat: a link that unites the Group's subsidiaries around the world
Bel launched its sponsorship programme in 2005 and has pursued it in the belief that offshore racing is a formidable tool to build a bond and instil a shared passion among the Group's 11,500 employees. It was for these reasons that Bel implemented an in-house activity programme based on its commitment to sailing with the skipper, Kito de Pavant.
A programme that combines encounters between employees, operations to support skippers during races or the simple pleasure of sailing during in-house events. A few figures: since 2005, Kito de Pavant and the Bel Group boat have sailed around the world to visit 12 Group subsidiaries and 14 plants; 8,000 employees have left their thumbprints on the boat's mast; 700 employees have had the pleasure of sailing with the skipper and an in-house regatta - the "Sharing Smiles Regatta" - brought together 200 employees of 21 different nationalities last June.
Every single event is an opportunity for the Group to share the enthusiasm of its employees for this programme which unites people around a human and a sporting adventure.
An ambitious programme with the course set for the 2012-2013 Vendée Globe
The Bel Group boat continues its adventure and carries Bel's signature, "Sharing smiles" throughout the world. The next stage starts on 31 December 2010 with the Barcelona World Race, a non-stop double-handed race around the world. Sébastien Audigane will be at the helm.
