The Merkts® brand was born in the 1930s. It all began in Salem, Wisconsin, where George and Carol Merkts had a dairy-delicatessen business. Their star product was a delicious "cold pack" cheese spread. The business was up and running.
Merkts®, which joined Bel's quality cheese product range in 2002, is made of cheddar produced only in Wisconsin. The brand offers an assortment of traditional flavours (port or strong cheddar, for instance) or new-tastes such as beer cheese or swiss almond.
Merkts® is Wisconsin's cheese-spread leader. It is also sold in Chicago and in other American markets.
Like other Bel Group cheese spreads, Merkts® adapts to all situations, and is the perfect product for your more casual gatherings with friends and family.
