The history of Kaukauna began in the United States in 1918 in a family-owned company in Wisconsin. The cheese gets its name from the city where it was first produced. It is now perceived by American consumers as a hallmark of quality.

Americans have adopted it!

Its growing success established Kaukauna as an indispensable cheese over the decades--so much so that the brand was bought out in 1971 by International Multifoods.

The year 1997 saw a major milestone in Kaukana's evolution as it was acquired by Fromageries Bel, which immediately stimulated a new phase of growth.

In 2005 a new packaging was introduced iwith a resolutely modern, attention-getting design.
