Babybel® was created in France in 1931 and the brand was copyrighted in December 1934. But Babybel® was not truly launched until 1952. This was when "the cheese that feels at home anywhere" became a real success, breaking the rules of traditional cheese with its unique shape and responding to new trends in consumption. And yet at that time it was distributed essentially in certain regions: northern, eastern and southwestern France.

The Babybel® spirit: a clever little cheese you can take anywhere.
Designed to introduce a new way of eating cheese, Babybel® has been the fun cheese that can be eaten by everyone everywhere since 1952. Its original shape and striking red color make it a vibrant presence as it spreads good cheer all around.
Mini Babybel® is packaged in a thin layer of protective wax wrapped in printed red cellophane. As they await shipment to distribution channels in refrigerated trucks, cases of Babybel® are stored in cold chambers at a temperature ranging from 4° C to a maximum 8° C. It is the fun-loving dairy product par excellence !
