Less fat, less sodium, but more calcium!

Quality and food safety...the need for excellence.
The success that Bel and its brands enjoy among customers is based above all on the pleasure they get from the company's cheeses.
This mandates that our products offer irreproachable quality and safety. The group is also aware of its role with respect to public health challenges, particularly in countries where there is malnutrition or obesity.

  • Less fat, less sodium, but more calcium!

Safety, quality...but also health: individual well-being begins with a balanced diet.
But these days, some diets encourage obesity or can lead to serious deficiencies. This is why Bel began incorporating reduced fat versions of its products into the product line range several years ago. This is also what caused the group to adopt a responsible attitude by adding to its Nutrition Charter a set of minimum or maximum values for all of the essential nutrients contained in its products (salt, fat, calcium, protein, vitamins, minerals) and by updating its recipes.
In 2007 the Nutrition Committee reported on the progress made on La Vache Qui Rit®, whose round boxes now contain wedges that conceal 22% more calcium than before (30% more for The Laughing Cow® Light). Meanwhile, the sodium content has dropped by 12% (down 11% for La Vache Qui Rit® Light). Mindful of its transparent information policy, the group also strives to ensure that consumers in every country have access to honest, detailed nutritional information (labels, advertising, etc.) on all of its products.
