Bel

Corporate sponsorship and patronage

Bel’s corporate sponsorship and patronage policy demonstrates the may ways in which the Group wishes to bring smiles to the world. It represents Bel’s willingness and effort to commit itself and engage in strong partnerships whose endeavors go beyond the sole business interests of the company.

  • Sailing: a sporting and human adventure

Since 2005, Bel and Kito de Pavant, Bel’s sailboat skipper, have shared a fantastic sportive and human adventure with the Group’s 11,300 employees.

This sailing sponsorship program is founded on the conviction that the dynamic nature of ocean racing represents a formidable force of solidarity and sharing for Bel employees around the world. The Group has therefore chosen to make its boat a symbolic link between its teams.

Twelve subsidiaries and fourteen plants around the world have already welcomed Kito and his boat, which is bedecked with the image of our legendary cow. Over 700 seaman apprentices have shared in the pleasure of sailing alongside the skipper, and more than 8,000 employees of 23 nationalities have chosen to show their team spirit by leaving their fingerprints on the mast. The sailboat brings the Bel community together and symbolizes its solidarity throughout the world!

  • Children and smiles are at the heart of Bel’s corporate sponsorship policy

Other means exist for sharing more smiles and promoting personal health and well-being, and they represent an extension of Bel’s daily responsibility towards children and families that goes beyond the sole interests of its brands.

Consequently, the Group’s sponsorship policy is based on two main themes:

    • The personal health and well-being of those who are the most fragile among us yet carry the future on their shoulders: children. This part of the policy came to life in 2008 with the creation of the Bel foundation.

    • The smiles and emotions that art can bring to children and families.
This aspect of the policy became reality in 2010 with the launch of Lab’Bel, the Group’s artistic laboratory.

These two themes on which the sponsorship policy is based both revolve around children and smiles as well as Bel’s core values, which include sharing, accessibility and supporting initiatives that are both innovative and meaningful.

    THE BEL FOUNDATION

Created in 2008, the Foundation’s ambition is to do its part in building a world that enables each child to grow up with a smile on his or her face.

The Foundation acts on behalf of children and their well-being around the world, by promoting a balanced diet and preserving the environment, as far as it is required for a healthy diet

It tangibly accomplishes this by supporting a mosaic of activities that make a difference and which are overseen by men and women whose original ideas, courage, conviction and commitment are qualities worthy of praise and support.

THE LAB’BEL ARTISTIC LABORATORY AND THE PLEASURE OF ART!

The relationship between creation, art and Bel goes back to the very beginnings of not only the company and its brands, which since the birth of The Laughing Cow® have enlisted the aid of artists and illustrators, but also the founding family, which was also very involved with art. In fact, this involvement continues today through Laurent Fiévet, the great grandson of Léon Bel and current artistic director of Lab’Bel, the artistic laboratory created in 2010.
The laboratory is a natural extension of Bel’s involvement in art. It’s primary mission is to share smiles with children and families around the world by discovering and exhibiting works of art that echo Bel’s values and philosophy: accessibility, humor, lighthearted impertinence and playful behavior.
